TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 4, 2022) – A battle of nationally-renowned powers will top the schedule of the Salt Lake Community College Athletic Department this week.
The No. 13 SLCC Baseball team, riding high in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings with a mark of 19-1, will travel to Southern Nevada for a four-game series with the longtime Scenic West power. SLCC Softball will travel to USU Eastern for a four-game series.

Baseball: The No. 13 Bruins have a comfortable lead atop the Scenic West standings, but this week provides no rest for SLCC.
Salt Lake will travel to play a four-game series at Southern Nevada, looking to pull off a rare season-sweep of the Coyotes. SLCC swept through CSN in their appearance at Cate Field, going 4-0, and will take its 4-0 road record to Las Vegas to begin a rigorous roll through the second half of the Scenic West schedule.
The Bruins will play four-of-five Scenic West series on the road in the second part of the league schedule.
Softball: Salt Lake is sitting squarely in second place in the Scenic West standings as the league opens its second round of play this weekend.
The Bruins went 14-6 in their first run through Scenic West play, trailing Southern Idaho's 18-2 record. Now SLCC will look towards facing a USU Eastern team who it went 3-1 against in the league's first weekend in early March.
Salt Lake coach
Cyndee Bennett said her team has discovered its identity heading into the league's second round.
"We are really just focused on improving every day and every weekend," she noted.
USU Eastern will be a good challenge to open the second part of league play, with the Eagles sitting at 10-10 and in third place in the Scenic West standings, according to Bennett.
"USU Eastern is on a hot streak and currently in third place," she said. "This is an important weekend for us playing on the road to get some wins."
