Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 22, 2022) – The No. 10 Salt Lake Community College Baseball team posted a split in Friday's Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader at Southern Idaho.

SLCC earned a 7-3 win in game one before falling 4-2 in game two, falling to 2-1 in the road series. The Bruins are now 34-7 overall and 28-3 in Scenic West games after the results.

Salt Lake and Southern Idaho will play a series finale on Saturday.

Salt Lake 7, Southern Idaho 3: The Bruins had a consistent hitting performance in the win.

SLCC took a 2-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a mixture of hits and a
Hunter Swapp bases-loaded RBI walk, then CSI bounced back to take the lead. From there, Salt Lake scored three runs in the sixth inning on a Swapp RBI single and a
Zachary Blaszak RBI bunt single.
Jason Luke and
Travis Johnson both contributed RBI base hits in the seventh inning.Â

Daxton Purser had a no-decision in a pitching start, with
Jordan Pace earning the save. Pace posted three strikeouts in two perfect innings.Â

Southern Idaho 4, Salt Lake 2: Timely hitting for CSI and defensive errors by SLCC helped the Golden Eagles to a victory.

Braden Winget had an RBI single in the first inning to give SLCC an early advantage, with the score tied at 1-1 in the third inning when
Karson Bodily score an unearned run to give the Bruins the lead. CSI then scored three runs to close out the game.

Winget went 2-of-4 to lead Salt Lake.Â
