Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 14, 2022) – The No. 13 Salt Lake Community College Baseball team opened a Scenic West Athletic Conference series in strong fashion Thursday.
 
SLCC started a four-game series at league rival Colorado Northwestern Community College with a 6-5 win over CNCC, moving to 5-0 on the season over the Spartans. The victory lifts Salt Lake to 29-6 overall and 23-2 in Scenic West play.
 
Dalton Hodge hit an RBI single in the first inning to boost SLCC to an early 2-0 lead, with Bruins building the lead to 3-0 in the fifth inning with an RBI single by Karson Bodily. CNCC came back to take a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning, prior to an RBI fielder's choice in the seventh inning from Dalton Hodge lifting the Bruins to a lead they would never relinquish. Bruer Webster added an RBI double in the eighth inning for insurance. 
 
Derik Eaquinto earned the pitching win for Salt Lake, throwing eight innings. Mason Green earned the save. 
 
Salt Lake and Colorado Northwestern will play a doubleheader on Friday.
