Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 25, 2022) – The Salt Lake Community College Baseball team clinched another Scenic West Athletic Conference series win Friday, powering to a doubleheader sweep over an in-state rival.

SLCC earned wins of 7-3 and 9-2 over USU Eastern, moving to 3-0 in the series in Price. The Bruins are now 20-5 overall and 14-1 in Scenic West play.

The two teams will finish with a single game on Saturday.

Salt Lake 7, USU Eastern 3: Timely hits lifted the Bruins to the victory in the day's first game.

Braden Winget hit a two-out RBI single in the third inning to lift the Bruins to a 2-1 lead, then Salt Lake turned on the heat in the sixth inning with four runs. The four-run inning started with RBI singles for
Dalton Hodge and
Cade Perkins, then was punctuated by a two-out, two-run RBI triple by
Karson Bodily.

Dax Purser earned the pitching win, surrendering a run in 5.2 innings.
Jordan Pace picked up the save, finishing with two strikeouts.

Salt Lake 9, USU Eastern 2: An early home run jumpstarted the Bruins on the way to a strong win.

Hunter Swapp hit a two-run home run in the third inning to give the Bruins an early 2-0 lead, then
Chase Taylor added an RBI in the fourth inning. The Bruins scored six runs in the sixth inning, with
Dalton Hodge and
Braden Winget hitting doubles.
