Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 24, 2022) - The Salt Lake Community College Baseball team earned a dominant win to open a road series on Thursday.

SLCC opened a four-game series at in-state rival USU Eastern in grand fashion, earning a 13-0 win to open a four-game Scenic West Athletic Conference series. The victory lifts the Bruins to 18-5 overall and 12-1 in Scenic West play.

The Bruins jumped out to a lead from the get-go, with Cade Perkins hitting a three-run home run to help boost SLCC to a 6-0 lead after the first inning. Dalton Hodge then added a two-run home run in the third inning to lift Salt Lake to a 13-0 lead.

Besides a sterling offense, the Bruins were carried by starting pitcher Derik Eaquinto. Eaquinto threw a complete-game in the five-inning victory, posting three strikeouts in the victory.

Salt Lake will play a doubleheader against USU Eastern on Friday.
