Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 12, 2022) – A sunny Saturday did nothing to compare to the bright disposition around the Salt Lake Community College Baseball team currently.

The Bruins posted a doubleheader sweep over Scenic West foe Colorado Northwestern Saturday, earning a 5-0 win in game one and a 10-0 victory in game two. Salt Lake is now 13-4 overall and 7-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference games.

SLCC and CNCC will conclude the series on Saturday.

Salt Lake 5, Colorado Northwestern 0: SLCC was opportunistic, scoring when needed to earn the win in the opening game of the doubleheader.

After scoring an unearned run in the first inning, the Bruins posted another run in the third inning on a
Karson Bodily in-field single to take a 2-0 lead. SLCC then added three more runs in the fifth inning, with
Zachary Blaszak hitting an RBI triple.

Dax Purser pitched an outstanding game, keeping CNCC scoreless through six innings while posting eight strikeouts.
Hunter Smith earned the save.Â

Salt Lake 10, Colorado Northwestern 0: The Bruins scored early and often, powering to a dominant victory.

SLCC scored two runs in the first inning, thanks to a
Cade Perkins double, then added three more runs in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead. Salt Lake posted four runs in the fifth inning, utilizing an RBI single by
Dalton Hodge and five walks to post a 9-0 advantage.
Colton Easton added a solo home run in the sixth inning, ending the game in a run-rule win.Â
