Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 6, 2022) - The Salt Lake Community College Baseball team played strong to close a preseason tournament Sunday.
SLCC, playing in the final game of the 'Zinger Bat' preseason tournament in Arizona, earned an 8-6 win over Gateway Community College to close the tournament at 2-2. The Bruins are now 4-4 overall.
SLCC's offense was strong early, with
Jarret Elmer hitting an RBI double in the second inning to give the Bruins an early 1-0 lead. Elmer later hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to lift Salt Lake to a 3-2 advantage.
Braden Winget also added a solo home run in the ninth inning.
Salt Lake will return to play on March 3 in the opener of a Scenic West Athletic Conference series against Southern Nevada. The game will be played at Cate Field.Â
