TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 29, 2022) – The holiday season is underway around the Wasatch Front.

Men's Basketball: After spending the Thanksgiving holidays at home, the No. 2 Bruins will return to the Lifetime Activities Center for a pair of games this week.
SLCC will play both Northwest College and Central Wyoming College this weekend, return to action in advance of next week's Scenic West Athletic Conference openers. Salt Lake is 6-0 this season. Salt Lake will also have a special announcement coming about events during Friday's games.
Looking ahead to this weekend's games, Bruins coach
Kyle Taylor said his team is ready to play after resting over Thanksgiving.
"We play two solid Region 9 opponents this week," he said. "Northwest College is very well coached, disciplined and is off to a good start this season. They will work to play slow and make us score in the half-court. Central Wyoming has a good squad, and Brad Schmit does a very nice job with his group. They are always tough and compete at a high level. We will need to prepare well and have our guys locked in."
While the Thanksgiving break was a positive, Taylor said his job is to ensure the layoff doesn't add rust to Salt Lake's game.
"We took last week off, so the key this week is four good practices from Monday to Thursday to get us back into better shape and focused on the weekend of games," he said. "I am hopeful that our guys are fresh, rested, healthy, and ready to get after it."
Women's Basketball: One of the surprise stories of the 2022-23 winter sports season has been the dominance of the No. 14 SLCC Women's Basketball team.
The Bruins are 6-0, with wins over nationally ranked foes like Casper College. Salt Lake will now host a pair of regional opponents in this weekend's 'Bruin Classic', playing host to Northwest College and Central Wyoming.
In preparation for this week's games, SLCC coach
Marcilina Grayer said her program has a positive trajectory.
"This week we are planning on getting better at the things we didn't do so well this past week of games," she said. "Growth is what we are focused on day to day."
