Salt Lake, Utah- Salt Lake Men's Basketball (11-18) beat CNCC (4-25) on Sophomore Night 102-88.
CNCC went 9-20 on three-pointers in the first half and led 37-26 with 4:52 to go in the first half. Salt Lake dominated the rest of the half and led 48-41 at the break. The Bruins amped up the scoring and held the lead for the entire second half.
Danny Young Jr. was perfect from the line (10-10) on his way to a career-high 36 points. Young posted a double-double with 10 rebounds. Five Bruins finished in double-figures. Nick Jefferson recorded 15 points and 9 assists. Reggie Larsen shot 4-8 from the floor and added 13 points. Nick Clark and Jaxon Heiden scored 12 points and 11 points respectively.
Clark and Jefferson combined for 8 steals and 18 turnovers by CNCC spoiled their chances of coming back. The Bruins shot 14-37 from deep and 18-20 on free-throws.
The Bruin Sophomores were recognized before tip-off: Makuei Riek, Danny Young Jr, Jaxon Heiden, Connor Nielsen, Duncan Reid, and Braden Heaton.
