TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 21, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College Athletic Department could possibly be the hottest NJCAA institution in the country, with all Fall sports programs being in the Top-10 of the national rankings.
Â
SLCCÂ will be on the road through all programs this week, with the Men's-and-Women's Soccer programs traveling to play at Southern Nevada and Community Christian. Salt Lake Volleyball will play at Southern Idaho to open Scenic West play on Wednesday.

Â
Men's Soccer:Â The nation's No. 1 NJCAA program will travel to play a pair of road matches this week.
Â
Salt Lake will travel to face off against Southern Nevada in Las Vegas on Thursday, with the Bruins also playing against new Scenic West foe Community Christian in Southern California on Saturday. SLCC has yet to allow a goal on the season to this point.
Â
Bruins coachÂ
Mark Davis said Salt Lake is continuing to improve.
Â
"Our team isn't content with our current skill level, and our players are focused daily on improving on the simple things," he said. "We have to do the basic tasks well in order to have the success we want to have."
Â
Women's Soccer:Â Salt Lake is full of momentum, riding a two-match winning streak into a pair of road matches this week.
Â
The No. 3 Bruins will travel to play at Southern Nevada and Community Christian, with a further chance for the team to build energy heading into critical rematches with other Scenic West teams later in the week. Salt Lake will return home for an important matchup with Snow College on Sept. 30.
Â
SLCC coachÂ
Cassie Ulrich said the Bruins want to continue to build on their recent success.
Â
"Our team has really developed their identity, especially in the press," she said. "It's organized, the players are committed, and it's effective. We want to attack on the front foot and one way we do that is by pressing high up the field; we've started to see more of our attacking style come out, too. There's always work to be done, but some pieces are really starting to flow as we try to build possession."
Â
Volleyball:Â SLCC Volleyball is figuratively on fire at the moment, with the Bruins riding an 11-match winning streak going into their Scenic West Athletic Conference opener.
Â
Salt Lake is at No. 6 in the latest NJCAA rankings, with the Bruins traveling to play at Southern Idaho.
Â
Bruins coach Shay Goulding Meurer said her team is getting great success thanks to strong fundamental play.
Â
"Our serving and passing continues to improve in impressive fashion," she said. "It is the part of our game I am most proud of, and is certainly responsible for how effectively we are able to score on offense and play defense."
Â
After a strong preseason, where Salt Lake beat multiple nationally-ranked opponents, the Bruins are ready for Scenic West play, according to Goulding Meurer.
Â
"We look forward to beginning our conference season in Twin Falls," she said. "CSI is always a strong opponent for us. We will have to be prepared to bring our best, and I expect it to be a great match."
