Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 9, 2021) – The No. 13 Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team will have a chance to defend their 2020 Region 18 title Saturday, with the Bruins earning a strong win in the NJCAA Region 18 semifinals Friday.
Salt Lake earned a 102-95 win over in-state rival Snow College, helping the Bruins into the regional final for the second-consecutive season. With the victory, SLCC is now 20-3 overall.
The Bruins took a 48-45 halftime lead, catching fire offensively in the second half by shooting 71.4 percent from the field (20-of-28). Snow's Matt Norman hit a pair of free-throw shots to cut the SLCC lead to 86-84 with 4:04 left in the game, before a
Jay Allen-Tovar dunk provided an exclamation point to the win.
Marvin Price led Salt Lake with 24 points, while
Jay Allen-Tovar posted 20 points and 8 rebounds. Other double-digit scorers included
Jackson Last, who scored 13 points, and
Max Watson scored 12 points.
Felix Lemetti posted 10 points in the win.
Salt Lake will face off against top-seed Southern Idaho in the Region 18 championship game on Saturday. The game will be played at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center.
