Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 22, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College baseball team continued pushing forward with momentum, earning a win in a Scenic West Athletic Conference series opener.
 
Salt Lake picked up an 8-3 win at USU Eastern, moving to 4-1 against the Eagles this season. SLCC is now 25-14 overall and 18-7 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
 
The Bruins utilized power to take the early lead, posting a trio of runs in the second inning on a two-run Eli Norman home run and a Chase Peterson solo home run. SLCC added another Norman home run in the fourth inning, with Norman also scoring an unearned run in the fifth inning. Sean Keating and Travis Johnson both posted RBI singles in the eighth inning.
 
Norman was a team-best 3-of-5 at the plate, while Keating was 2-of-4. Fynn Chester earned the strong pitching win, striking out 12 batters in seven innings. 
 
SLCC will play USU Eastern in a doubleheader on Friday.
