Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 29, 2021) – The No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team continued its run through the Scenic West Athletic Conference schedule Wednesday, earning a league win that led to a prestigious preseason tournament title.
 
Facing off against in-state rival Snow College in the championship game of the 'Fiesta Bowl Junior College Showdown', Salt Lake continued its strong play and earned an 85-68 win over the Badgers, moving to 17-0 on the season. SLCC and Snow also counted the game as a league matchup, in lieu of next week's previously scheduled bout.
 
Defense once again proved to be the calling card for the Bruins, with Salt Lake holding Snow to just 11.1 percent shooting (2-of-18) from three-point range. SLCC also forced 18 Snow turnovers, on the way to taking a 40-28 halftime lead. Snow never led in the game.

"We played suffocating defense for most of the night and I think that was the difference in the game," said SLCC coach Kyle Taylor. "We played the game at our tempo and that definitely played into our favor."
 
Chase Adams scored a game-high 18 points to lead Salt Lake, while Jordan Brinson contributed 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Quincy McGriff finished with 16 points. Brinson was named as the 'Tournament MVP', while McGriff and Doctor Bradley both were part of the All-Tournament Team. 

"It was a total team win tonight," said Taylor. "A lot of guys played well. Chase Adams really stepped up and hit some big shots in the second half. Jordan Brinson had a phenomenal tournament and really set the tone for us all week."
 
Salt Lake will now await a scheduled game on January 8 at Colorado Northwestern.
