Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 27, 2020) - The No. 20 Salt Lake Community College baseball team has started Scenic West Athletic Conference play the exact way it wanted to - with a win.
The Bruins earned a 9-2 win over Colorado Northwestern Community College, moving to 14-3 overall and 1-0 in Scenic West play. The win boosts Salt Lake's winning streak to nine games.
SLCC established dominance early in the game, taking a 5-2 lead after the third inning. The Bruins posted two more runs in the fourth inning before scoring single runs in the sixth and seventh innings.Â
In his first league start of the year,
Breck Eichelberger earned the pitching victory and threw five innings of four-hit, five-strikeout ball while allowing two earned runs.
Dalton Hodge finished the game with a two-run home run, while
Cade Perkins went 3-of-5 with a steal.
Cole Gambill posted a monster 2-of-3 performance at the plate, hitting a double and a home run.Â
Salt Lake will play a doubleheader on Friday, playing at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.Â
