Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 22, 2020) – The preseason is over and it couldn't have ended better for the Salt Lake Community College baseball team.

The Bruins finished up a four-game sweep of Treasure Valley Community College on Saturday, earning a doubleheader sweep over TVCC in wins of 12-2 and 6-0. The wins boost SLCC's overall record to 13-3 to end the postseason.

Salt Lake will host Colorado Northwestern Community College in next weekend's Scenic West Athletic Conference opening series. The Bruins will play a single game on Thursday and Saturday, with a doubleheader on Friday.

Salt Lake 12, Treasure Valley 2: A fast start lifted the Bruins to the day-opening win.

SLCC posted three runs in the first inning, followed by posting two more in the third inning to take an early 5-0 lead.
Cole Gambill set the early tone, going 2-of-3 at the plate with a pair of triples. Peyton Freeman went 2-of-3 with a double and two RBI's.Â

Fynn Chester earned the pitching win, throwing six innings of two-hit, no-run ball.Â

Salt Lake 6, Treasure Valley 0: A back-and-forth game early ended in a strong SLCC win.

After being held scoreless for the first four innings, Salt Lake scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to take a commanding 4-0 lead.
Jake Wilson's pitching played a strong role in the win, with the Las Vegas-area product throwing six innings of no-run ball while striking out eight TVCC batters.Â
