Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 4, 2019) - The No. 19 Salt Lake Community College baseball team was swept in a Saturday doubleheader at No. 8 College of Southern Nevada Saturday, falling just shy in the race for the Scenic West Athletic Conference title.

Needing to win one game on Saturday to earn the regular-season title, the Bruins fell 3-1 in game one of the day before falling 9-1 in game two. Salt Lake will enter next week's Region 18 championships as the No. 2 seed. holding a 35-11 overall record and a 24-7 Scenic West record.

Southern Nevada 3, Salt Lake 1: The Bruins fell just shy in a back-and-forth contest.

Both teams were scoreless through the first four innings before Southern Nevada scored a run in the fifth inning. Salt Lake responded with a run in the sixth inning as Josh Cowden hit an RBI single to score Cole Gambill. Unfortunately, the Coyotes responded with two late runs to earn the victory.

Cowden finished 2-of-3. Jake Wilson took the pitching loss in the game.

Southern Nevada 9, Salt Lake 1: The Coyotes came out hot offensively and powered to the victory.

Southern Nevada took an early 4-0 lead before Brady Brook hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 4-1. However, CSN responded with five more runs to earn the win.

Brook went 2-of-2 in the game to lead SLCC.
