Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 6, 2019) - The No. 13 Salt Lake Community College baseball team successfully completed a series sweep of a league rival on Saturday.
The Bruins swept a weekend doubleheader against Colorado Northwestern Community College at Cate Field in West Jordan, earning a 3-0 victory in game one before picking up a 10-2 win in game two. The victories lift Salt Lake's overall record to 29-5 and 18-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
Salt Lake will travel to face the College of Southern Idaho in a four-game series next weekend in Twin Falls. Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start.

The Bruins scored in three consecutive innings during the game to earn the victory in a close matchup.
Tyler Dean's RBI double in the third inning got Salt Lake on the board, followed up by
Jaxson Otis's RBI groundout in the fourth inning and
Colton Moore's RBI single in the fifth inning.
While he didn't have an RBI,
Cole Gambill was the offensive leader in the game for Salt Lake, going 3-of-3 at the plate while scoring two runs. Moore also went 2-of-2. Salt Lake posted seven hits as a team.
Jake Wilson earned the pitching win for Salt Lake, throwing six scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. Wilson also struck out five batters.

SLCC held an early 5-0 lead, continually scoring runs to keep Colorado Northwestern from establishing any real momentum.
Cole Gambill hit a three-run home run in the first inning to give Salt Lake a lead they would never relinquish, with a two-run
Tyler Dean home run adding to the advantage in the third inning.
While CNCC would score two runs to cut the advantage to 5-2, the Bruins responded with two runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach.
Jaxson Otis and
Alex Bumpus hit back-to-back RBI doubles in the inning for SLCC. Finally, it was
Tanner Argyle's game-winning run in the seventh inning that ended the contest.
Bumpus finished 3-of-4 at the plate while Dean went 2-of-2. Gambill lead the team with three RBI's.
Cal Beardsley pitched the team to victory, throwing four innings and surrendering just two runs while striking out five CNCC batters.Â
