Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 2, 2019) - With one series under their respective belts in Scenic West Athletic Conference action, the Salt Lake Community College baseball team is filled with confidence.

After earning an impressive doubleheader sweep on Friday against Colorado Northwestern, the Bruins followed up with another doubleheader sweep to sweep the league series against the Spartans by scores of 7-3 and 4-2. The victory lifts Salt Lake's overall record to 11-4 and league record to a perfect 4-0.

The Bruins will host the College of Southern Idaho in league action next weekend, with a four-game series scheduled at Cate Field in West Jordan. Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

Salt Lake 7, Colorado Northwestern 3: An offensive outburst lifted the Bruins to the victory in the day's first game.

SLCC posted four runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-0 lead, with the Bruins stretching the lead to 7-0 later in the game. A Jaxson Otis RBI single in the third inning got Salt Lake on the scoreboard and the Bruins added to the lead in the fourth inning as Gabe Singer hit an RBI double to boost the lead to 2-0. 

A Brady Brook triple is what keyed the fifth-inning rally, with a Jace Shepherd solo home run boosting SLCC's lead to 7-0. On the pitching front, Salt Lake's Jake Wilson threw five complete innings of two-hit ball to earn the victory.

Salt Lake 4, Colorado Northwestern 2: A back-and-forth affair ended with SLCC finding its way to a series sweep.

Tanner Argyle hit a two-run, two-out RBI single in the seventh inning to lift Salt Lake to the victory, breaking up a 2-2 tie. SLCC got on the board in the first inning as Tyler Dean hit an RBI single to score Jaxson Otis. The Bruins posted another run in the third inning with a Brady Brook score, lifting SLCC to a 2-0 lead. CNCC scored two runs in the bottom half of the third to tie the score, with Argyle's hit giving the needed breathing room for both teams.
