Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 23, 2019) - Call it a six-peat or call it a victory; regardless, the Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team is once again Scenic West Athletic Conference champions.
Salt Lake powered to an 83-26 victory over Colorado Northwestern Community College Saturday, earning their sixth consecutive Scenic West title in the process. SLCC finished the regular-season with a record of 23-5 overall and 9-3 in league play.Â
The Bruins dominated from the tip, holding a 20-11 lead after the first quarter. SLCC's power was on full display in the second quarter as the Bruins went on a 31-5 run to take a commanding 51-16 halftime lead. Defense played a strong role in Salt Lake's total victory with the Bruins forcing 28 CNCC turnovers, scoring 28 points off those turnovers.

Betsy Specketer said the victory was a momentum-builder for the program.
"We shot the ball really well to start the game and had a great half defensively as well," she said. "It was good to get everyone some minutes going into next week's tournament."
Lauren Gustin finished with 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead Salt Lake.
Savanah Crane had 13 points for SLCC while
Laura Pichot score 12 points.
With the win, Salt Lake has earned 8 of the last 10 Scenic West regular-season titles and appears primed for a top seed in next week's Region 18 tournament. The Region 18 tournament will be played at USU Eastern in Price.Â
