Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 23, 2018) - If Thursday's season-opening match is an indicator of the upcoming 2018 season, the Salt Lake Community College women's soccer program won't have to worry about offense.
The Bruins rolled to a strong 4-0 victory over Western Nebraska Community College Thursday, starting the season at 1-0. Besides the strong win and the confidence boost to start the season, SLCCÂ also celebrated its first home match at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.Â
Madison Schmidt played a strong role in the Salt Lake win, scoring two goals in the match. It was freshman
Samantha Tippetts who opened the scoring for the Bruins, earning a goal in the 11th minute of her collegiate career. Leading 3-0,
Dominique Estrada scored a goal in the 80th minute.

Elton Jazexhiu said the victory was a showcase for Salt Lake's abilities.
"We are very proud of our girls today," he said. "They were able to come out firing for their first win of the season and show our goal-scoring ability. We hope to be able to take this into the next game."Â
Salt Lake will play another preseason match at Zions Bank Stadium Friday, hosting Northwest College. The match is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.Â
