Box Score 3 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 4, 2018) - Leading early in a game Thursday, the Salt Lake Community College baseball program thought it was in for a successful day.
Instead, the Bruins experienced an erratic day as game one of a scheduled doubleheader at Colorado Northwestern was postponed, pushing the rest of game one on top of Friday's scheduled doubleheader. Thanks to a strong effort, Salt Lake swept the games, earning a rare tripleheader sweep by the scores of 11-3, 5-0 and 9-6.
Salt Lake will wait for the announcement of their matchup in the Region 18 tournament next weekend. Brackets will be released over the weekend.
Salt Lake 11, Colorado Northwestern 3: Already leading 5-0 when play resumed, the Bruins rolled to a strong victory over Colorado Northwestern.
Nick Seginowich hit a two-RBI double with two outs in the fourth inning, with
Brady Brook doubling in two Bruins in the seventh inning. Salt Lake's
Sterling Lay closed out the game on the mound for the Bruins.
Salt Lake 5, Colorado Northwestern 0: A sharply-pitched game ended in a victory for Salt Lake.

Ben Weese was perfect through four innings, with
Jesse Parker relieving him in the fifth inning. Salt Lake held an early 1-0 lead, after a
Damian Henderson RBI groundout gave the Bruins the edge. The score would remain low until the fifth inning, with SLCC scoring two runs on a Henderson RBI double. Henderson added to his total RBI count with a sacrifice-fly in the seventh inning to push Salt Lake's advantage to 5-0.
Sean Keating earned the save for the Bruins.
Salt Lake 9, Colorado Northwestern 6: Another outstanding outing by
Damian Henderson finished with another Bruins win.
Henderson went 2-of-2 at the plate, finishing with a home run and three RBI's.
Alex Johnson and
Tyler Dean both went 2-of-3, with
Quinn Ayers going 3-of-4 in the game.Â
Jacob Stauffer closed out the game on the mound for Salt Lake, earning the save with two strikeouts.Â
