Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 10, 2018) - The Salt Lake Community College Bruins baseball program split a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader with USU Eastern Saturday.
Salt Lake earned an impressive 6-1 victory in game one, falling 12-0 in the second game. The Bruins moved their SWAC record to 3-3.
The Bruins will play another doubleheader against the Eagles on Sunday, with first pitch of game one scheduled at 12:00 p.m. Live stats will be available at www.slccbruins.com.
Salt Lake 6, USU Eastern 1: The Bruins used strong pitching to power to a game one victory.
Ben Weese threw six innings of one run ball, earning the victory to move to 5-4 on the season. Weese also threw four strikeouts, surrendering five hits over his time on the mound.
Jesse Parker struck out three Eagles in the seventh inning.
The Bruins scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning, after a
Jaxson Otis single scored Alex Bumpas. Then
Brady Brook scored on a
Colton Moore groundout.
Salt Lake scored four runs in the sixth inning, with a
Tyler Dean double keying the run. Dean finished 1-of-3 on the game.

USU Eastern scored four runs in the top of the first inning, establishing a lead they would never relinquish. Salt Lake's
Jayden Hartle started the game, surrendering four earned runs in 3.2 innings.
Salt Lake's Paxton Freeman went 2-of-4.
