Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 24, 2018) - The No. 8 Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team continues to find different ways to win games as the season goes on.
Saturday's SLCC victory went the way of a consistent effort, with the Bruins scoring an 86-75 victory over Laramie County Community College. The victory lifts Salt Lake's overall record to 7-1 and 6-0 inside the Lifetime Activities Center.
Salt Lake held a 41-34 halftime lead over Laramie County, with both teams struggling offensively in the first half. The difference for SLCCÂ came defensively, as the Bruins held an 11-2 advantage in points-off-turnovers with 8 LCCC giveaways in the first half. SLCC held a narrow 19-18 lead midway through the period before taking off on a 9-0 run that was punctuated by a
Tyler Bennett three-point shot.
Hunter Schofield finished with 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting, while
Cameron Mack finished with 17 points.
Aaron Burt was the other double-digit scorer for the Bruins, finishing with 14 points off the bench.
The Bruins head out on the road next weekend, playing in a tournament in Florida. The tourney will start on Thursday with a game against the College of Eastern Florida, with a game on Friday versus NJCAAÂ foe Broward College. Salt Lake will also play Florida Southwestern Community College on Saturday.Â
