Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 2, 2017) – The Salt Lake Community College Bruins women's soccer program had a successful foray in the final day of a two-match tourney at Laramie County Community College.
 
The Bruin women's program earned a 3-1 victory over the nationally-ranked Iowa Western Reivers. Salt Lake finished the tourney at 1-1.
 
SLCC downed the nation's sixth-ranked team thanks to a balanced offensive attack. Meghan Walker opened up the scoring, netting a goal in the match's 52^nd minute. Iowa Western quickly responded, before Chloe Hendrickson reestablished the SLCC lead with a goal in the 60^th minute.
 
Salt Lake's Sydney Hathaway finished with her second goal of the weekend in the 69^th minute of the match. SLCC held a 23-6 advantage in shots-on-goal.
 
SLCC will have a match on Friday, as the Bruins host a pair of weekend matches with Colorado Northwestern Junior College. The matches will also serve as SLCC's SWAC openers.
