Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah- Salt Lake Community College softball team traveled to Yuma, Arizona to participate in the Great Western Shootout. The Bruins will play seven games over the course of three days.

Game 1 Recap:
KyRae Kogianes brought home the winning run to give SLCC the lead in the seventh inning, as the Bruins hung on to beat Arizona Western 3-1 on Thursday.

KyRae Kogianes was hot from the plate for SLCC. KyRae Kogianes went two-of-three, drove in one, and scored one run. After, Kogianes homerun to secure the win, Riana Splinter hit a homerun to center field to extend the Bruins lead.

Paige Reimann got the win for Salt lake Community College Bruins. She allowed one run over seven innings. She struck out five, walked three and surrendered five hits.

Game 2 Recap:
The Bruin railed at the very end to pull ahead of Eastern Arizona 7-6. With the game tied at six, in the bottom of the ninth, Karly Bunderson came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Kirsten Andersen.

KyRae Kogianes racked up three RBIs on one hit and homered in the eighth inning for Salt Lake. Elisha Jahnke got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She pitched one shutout inning, walked none, and surrendered one hit.

SLCC gained the first run of the game in the fourth, scoring on an RBI single by Riana Splinter. Eastern Arizona was quick to answer scoring in the top of the fifth.

Eastern Arizona made a big run in the top of the eighth putting four on the board. The Bruins answered scoring on an RBI single by Megan Reed and a three-run homer by KyRae Kogianes.
