Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah- Salt Lake Community College baseball continued season as they traveled to take on Yavapai College in a double-header Monday. The Bruins fell to the Roughriders in both games of the series.
SLCC kept it a close match, falling to Yavapai 9-8 in the first game. The Bruins tacked on six runs at the top of the seventh, but could not secure the win.
Sean Pico started on the mount throwing four strikes, zero walks and allowed four earned runs.
Zac Willis went two-of-three, converting on two runs, one walk and a double.
In the second game, Yavapai defeated SLCC 16-6.
Skyler Mahoney went two-for-four, earning a double, a RBI and one run.
Chris Bradford took the loss for the Bruins, allowing four runs, three strikes and two walks.
"We need to get back to being more disciplined and start to put all of the pieces back together," assistant coach
Derek Waddoups said. "There were many bright spots over the weekend. We just need to play a more consistent team game."
Salt Lake will return home to face Prairie Baseball Academy in a double-header February 11. The first game will begin at 1 p.m. on the Jordan Campus of SLCC.
