MBB: SLCC Closes Season at SWAC Tournament Falling 85-79 to North Idaho

Box Score PRICE, Utah- Coming down to the last three minutes, Salt Lake Community College fell to North Idaho 85-79 in their first game at the SWAC Tournament.

"We had a great season, we ended 26-6." Head coach Todd Phillips said. "The kids played really well and received a lot of rewards. It's tough, you play everyone four times, we beat them three times and this was the one that counted and we couldn't get it done tonight."

SLCC had two players in double figures, led by DeSean Parsons who gained a game-high 19 points. Brandon Morley posted 10 points and five rebounds. Gibson Johnson led SLCC under the net with 10 rebounds.

SLCC went into the locker room down 42-30 at half and fought their way back to tie the game. The Bruins took the lead with five minutes left in the game but could not secure the win.

When asked what the Bruins struggled on Coach Phillips said, "We struggled with free throws, which typically is not a problem for us." The Bruins shot 63.2 percent from the free throw line.

The Bruins will now look to next season.

"Now we start recruiting." Coach Phillips said. "We have to reload every year, so we will look to bring on six or seven kids. "

The Bruins coaching staff and players thank the fans and community for their support this season.
