Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah- #15 Salt Lake Community College fell to #3 College of Southern Idaho 61-59 at home Saturday night. The Bruins fought the Golden Eagles the entire game but fell within the last few seconds of the game.
"The difference in the game is we turned over the ball 18 times in the second half, "assistant coach
Paul Marble said. "We couldn't overcome that. That's 18 times you don't get a chance to shoot. "
The Bruins ended the night with three players in double-digits, led by
De'Sean Parsons who had 15 points and nine rebounds.
Blake Wilkinson added 12 points and five rebounds, while
LaBrian Shiflet contributed 11 points.
Gibson Johnson racked up a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a quick start. Battling back, the Bruins eventually took the lead with 7:22 left in the first, when Shiflet connected on a three.
SLCC went into the locker room up 35-30. The Bruins held on to the lead until there was 10:53 left on the game clock. The men's fought back tying the game three more times but could not overcome the Golden Eagles.
SLCC return to action Thursday, January 15 when they host Colorado Northwestern. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
