Henderson, NV—The SLCC Baseball team (14-8, 6-2 SWAC) won both games of a doubleheader vs. Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent
No. 19-ranked College of Southern Nevada (CSN) (13-10, 0-4 SWAC) on Friday at Morse Stadium. The Bruins completed a four-game series sweep of the Coyotes with Friday's pair of road victories.
Game 1 Stats vs. CSN: Sophomore pitcher
Anthony Dixon (West Valley City, UT) threw eight scoreless innings with three strikeouts and just one hit allowed. Sophomore pitcher
Jordan Hager (Farmington, UT) pitched the ninth inning, allowing the only CSN run of the ballgame.
Sophomore catcher
Colton Barkdull (Erda, UT) hit a single to give SLCC the lead in the top of the ninth inning by scoring teammate
Garrett Bushman (Farmington, UT). The Bruins added an insurance run from the bat of sophomore infielder
Derrick Whitney (South Jordan, UT) with a base hit to score
Barkdull. SLCC added two more runs to earn a 4-0 lead and the Bruins held off the Coyotes who managed one tally in the bottom of the ninth frame.
Game 2 Stats vs. CSN: Freshman pitcher
Chris Bradford (Las Vegas, NV) struck out eight CSN batters to earn the win in five scoreless innings of work and sophomore pitcher
Jarren Adam (Murray, UT) threw two shutout innings with one strikeout to close the contest.

Robert Grilli (Mississauga, ONT) was 2-for-3 with a triple and
Barkdull was 2-for-4 at the plate in the winning effort.
Whitney was 1-for-4 with a triple and
Bushman was 2-for-3.

DG Nelson and the Bruins is the team's SWAC home opening series with Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) (5-16, 0-4 SWAC) on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 14-15 at Cate Field in West Jordan, UT. First pitch for game one on Friday is slated for 1 p.m. and the day's second contest will begin approximately 30 minutes following the end of the first matchup.
