The Bruins defeated the Golden Eagles 6-4 in game one (seven innings) and won a 4-2 decision with CSI in the day's second contest (nine innings). The pair of victories extend Salt Lake's streak to 10 wins. The Bruins are currently atop the SWAC standings with a seven game lead over second place Western Nevada College.

Game 1 Recap: SLCC trailed 3-0 heading into the top of the fifth inning but used a six-run rally to claim its first lead of the game. Sophomore outfielder Derrick Whitney (South Jordan, UT) led off the fifth inning with a double for the Bruins and freshman catcher Zach Willis (Lindon, UT) was walked in SLCC's next at-bat.

Whitney advanced to third base on a wild pitch and Willis advanced on an error that later scored Whitney from third. Sophomore outfielder Zach Watts (West Jordan, UT) reached second on that same fielding error.

Freshman utility player Garrett Bushman (Farmington, UT) reached base with a walk and Watts scored on a single from sophomore infielder Robert Grilli (Mississauga, ONT). Sophomore catcher Colton Barkdull (Erda, UT) batted in three runs on a double that scored Grilli, Bushman and Willis and later capped the scoring in the fifth frame for the Bruins by crossing home plate on CSI's second error of the inning.

CSI would add one more tally on a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning but the Bruins would hold on for Salt Lake's ninth consecutive win.

Game 1 Stats vs. CSI: Barkdull went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, a run scored and three runs batted in (RBI) and Grilli was 1-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Whitney was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
