Ephraim, UT—The No. 20 SLCC Men's Basketball team (21-5, 8-3 SWAC) fell to in-state rival Snow College (13-12, 4-7 SWAC) 70-63 on Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) play.
The Badgers led by 18 points at the halftime break and shot 48.4 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes. SLCC was held to 29.6 percent from the field through the first half on 8-for-27 shooting.

SLCC trailed by as many as 21 in the second half but trimmed the deficit to five points at 68-63 with 47 seconds remaining in regulation. The Bruins would get no closer, but outscored the Badgers by a count of 40-29 in the second half.  SLCC out-rebounded Snow College 36-34 and finished at 34.4 percent shooting for the game. Snow College shot 44.4 percent for the contest and was 7-of-17 from beyond the arc. SLCC finished at 2-for-17 from three point range.

Stats vs. Snow: SLCC sophomore guard Gary Payton II (Las Vegas, NV) scored 13 points and completed a double-double with 11 rebounds in the losing effort. Sophomore guard Jaden Jackson (Salt Lake City, UT) added 13 points with six rebounds and freshman guard Zerrion Payton (Oakland, CA) added 11 points with four rebounds and a pair of assists.

Next up for Head Coach Todd Phillips and the Bruins is a road matchup with North Idaho College (NIC) (17-9, 4-7 SWAC) on Thursday, Feb. 13 with tipoff slated for 8:30 p.m. (MST), 7:30 p.m. (PST). SLCC leads the regular season series with NIC 2-0.
