TWIN FALLS, ID—The
No. 14-ranked SLCC Men's Basketball team (14-3, 1-1 SWAC) fell to Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) rival
No. 15-ranked College of Southern Idaho (CSI) (15-2, 2-1 SWAC) by a final score of
64-61 on Thursday night.
The Bruins had four players finish in double figures in the losing effort and out-rebounded the Golden Eagles 39-35. The conference contest featured six lead changes and 10 ties.
SLCC shot 40.4 percent from the field on 23-for-57 shooting and CSI finished at 41.4 percent shooting with 24 made shots on 58 total attempts. The Bruins struggled from beyond the arc, making just four of 21 three point attempts. The Golden Eagles went 5-for-15 from three point range.
Stats vs. CSI: SLCC freshman guard
Zerrion Payton (Oakland, CA) finished with 13 points, four rebounds and a pair of assists. Freshman guard
De'Sean Parsons also turned in 13 points to go with five rebounds.
Sophomore guard
Gary Payton II (Las Vegas, NV) scored 11 points to go with eight rebounds, four blocks, two assists and three steals and freshman forward
Neal Monson (Sandy, UT) added 10 points with seven rebounds and three blocks.
