SALT LAKE CITY—The No. 20-ranked SLCC Men's Basketball team (17-3, 4-1 SWAC) defeated in-state rival No. 11 USU-Eastern (17-2, 4-1 SWAC) 90-74 in Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) play on Saturday night at Bruin Arena.

SLCC out-rebounded USU-Eastern 43-21 and shot 63.0 percent from the field in the winning effort. The Bruins led by as many as 19 points and held the lead throughout the contest.

Stats vs. USU-E: Bruin freshman guard De'Sean Parsons (Sacramento, CA) scored 26 points and completed a double-double with 10 rebounds. The Grant Union High School graduate also had four assists.

Freshman forward Neal Monson (Sandy, UT) also finished with 26 points and had seven rebounds on the night. Sophomore guard Jaden Jackson (Salt Lake City, UT) added 15 points and two assists and sophomore guard Gary Payton II (Las Vegas, NV) finished with nine points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists.

Next up for Head Coach Todd Phillips and the Bruins is a home matchup with in-state rival Snow College on Saturday, Jan. 18 at Bruin Arena with tipoff slated for 5 p.m. The game takes place on SLCC's annual 'Shoot Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Night' with fans encouraged to wear pink to show support for the cause.
