Henderson, NV—The SLCC Baseball team (28-16, 16-12 SWAC) picked up a pair of road victories over Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) leader No. 4-ranked College of Southern Nevada (CSN) (30-11, 18-6 SWAC) on Saturday. The Bruins topped the Coyotes 5-1 in game one and won 7-5 in game two.

Game 1 SLCC Stats:  Bruin sophomore pitcher Michael Springer (West Jordan, UT) was the winning pitcher of record in game one, striking out four CSN batters with one earned run allowed in six innings of work.

Sophomore utility player Palmer Page (Saratoga Springs, UT) was 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run, a double and three runs batted in (RBIs). Sophomore catcher Bo Fisher (American Fork, UT) was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs.

Game 2 SLCC Stats: Sophomore pitcher Rhett Nelson (Lindon, UT) picked up the win in game two with five strikeouts and four earned runs allowed in four innings pitched. Sophomore pitcher Skylar Janisse (Maidstone, ONT) earned the save with five strikeouts and one earned run allowed in three innings of relief.

Freshman outfielder Zach Watts (West Jordan, UT) was 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored and freshman infielder Robert Grilli (Mississauga, ONT) was 3-for-4 with one RBI. Freshman outfielder Connor Williams (South Jordan, UT) was 1-for-3 with a triple and one RBI in the winning effort. The doubleheader sweep marks the first for CSN at home this season.

Next up for Head Coach DG Nelson and the Bruins is a SWAC road doubleheader against Colorado Northwestern CC (2-26, 2-26 SWAC) on Friday, Apr. 19 in Rangeley, CO. First pitch for game one is set for 1:00 p.m.
