Bruins out-hit Coyotes in game two but fall in sixth straight contest

Henderson, NV—The SLCC Baseball team (26-16, 14-12 SWAC) fell twice to Scenic West Athletic Conference frontrunner No. 4 College of Southern Nevada (CSN) (30-9, 18-4 SWAC) in a road doubleheader on Friday. The Bruins dropped the opening contest 7-3 and despite out-hitting the Coyotes 5-4, SLCC lost game two 3-0.

Game 1 SLCC Stats: 
Freshman pitcher Brady Corless (Spanish Fork, UT) took the game one loss with five strikeouts and four earned runs allowed in five innings of work. Sophomore infielder JC Snyder (Salem, UT) was 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and two runs batted in (RBIs) and sophomore outfielder Steven Adam (Tecumseh, ONT) was 1-for-3 with a run scored in the losing effort.

Game 2 SLCC Stats: 
Sophomore pitcher Rhett Parkinson (Wellsville, UT) was the losing pitcher of record in game two, striking out seven CSN batters and allowing three earned runs in eight innings pitched. Sophomore catcher Bo Fisher (American Fork, UT) was 1-for-3 with a single and a walk and sophomore infielder Brandon Gust (Riverton, UT) was 1-for-3.

Next up for Head Coach DG Nelson and the Bruins is another doubleheader against CSN on Saturday, April 13 with first pitch set for Noon.
