Salt Lake City, UT—The SLCC Baseball team (26-10, 14-6 SWAC) picked up a pair of home victories over in-state opponent USU-Eastern (15-17) on Saturday, winning the day's first contest 10-0 and earning a 13-3 decision in game two. The Bruins have won five straight contests and swept the season series with USU-Eastern 6-0.

Bruin freshman pitcher Anthony Dixon (West Valley City, UT) picked up the game one victory with three hits allowed and one strikeout in four innings of work. Sophomore catcher Nathan Fishel (Littleton, CO) was 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run, a run scored and three RBIs and sophomore infielder Sam Goold (St. George, UT) was 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored.

Sophomore pitcher Rhett Nelson (Lindon, UT) got the game two win with three strikeouts and three hits allowed in 2.1 innings pitched. Freshman infielder Kade Teter (Pocatello, ID) was 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs including a three run walk-off home run to seal the run-rule victory. Sophomore outfielder Bryan Heward (Ogden, UT) was 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Next up for Head Coach DG Nelson and the Bruins is a home doubleheader against Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Western Nevada College (24-16, 9-11 SWAC) on Friday, Apr. 5 at Cate Field. First pitch for game one is slated for 1:00 p.m.
