Salt Lake City, UT—The SLCC Baseball team (22-10, 16-6 SWAC) split a pair of games with Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent College of Southern Idaho (CSI) (17-18, 6-10 SWAC) on Saturday. The Bruins dropped the opening contest 8-2 and won the day's second game 5-2.

The doubleheader was played at Weber High School due to unplayable conditions at the Bruins' home playing surface Cate Field as a result of overnight snow.

Bruin freshman pitcher Anthony Dixon (West Valley City, UT) took the game one loss with two earned runs allowed in five and one-thirds innings of work. Sophomore infielder Sam Goold (St. George, UT) was 1-for-1 at the plate with a home run and two RBIs in the losing effort.

Sophomore pitcher Michael Springer (West Jordan, UT) earned the win in the second game in two innings of relief. Freshman infielder Robert Grilli (Mississauga, Ontario) was 3-for-4 and freshman infielder Kade Teter (Pocatello, ID) was 2-for-4 at the plate. Freshman pitcher/outfielder Connor Williams (South Jordan, UT) was 1-for-1 with a home run and two walks and sophomore outfielder Bryan Heward (Ogden, UT) was 2-for-2 with a sacrifice fly and two RBIs.

Next up for Head Coach DG Nelson and the Bruins is a home doubleheader against USU-Eastern (11-13) on Friday, Mar. 29 at Cate Field.
