Price, UT—The SLCC Baseball team (15-9, 9-5 SWAC) picked up a doubleheader sweep of USU-Eastern (7-11) on Tuesday. The Bruins outscored the Golden Eagles 34-7 on the day, winning game one 14-2 and game two 20-5. SLCC had a total of 31 team hits for the day.

In game one, freshman pitcher Anthony Dixon (West Valley City, UT) picked up the win in four and two-thirds innings of work, striking out three Golden Eagle batters and allowing just one earned run. Bruin sophomore outfielder Bryan Heward (Ogden, UT) was 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run, a double, two walks and six RBIs. Sophomore infielder JC Snyder (Salem, UT) was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.

In game two, freshman pitcher JC Campo (Las Vegas, NV) picked up the win in two innings of relief. Snyder was 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run and three RBIs and freshman outfielder Jordan Leinweber (Castle Rock, CO) was 3-for-4 with two doubles. Sophomore infielder Sam Goold (St. George, UT) was 2-for-4 with a double.

Next up for Head Coach DG Nelson and the Bruins is a pair of home doubleheaders against Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Colorado Northwestern CC (1-6, 1-6 SWAC) on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 15-16 at Cate Field. Friday's first game gets underway at 1:00 p.m. and first pitch for game one on Saturday is slated for Noon.
