Box Score SLCC Women's Basketball picks up road win over Colorado Northwestern

Rangely, CO—The No. 16-ranked SLCC Women's Basketball team (17-10, 8-6 SWAC) defeated Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Colorado Northwestern CC (CNCC) (13-16, 2-12 SWAC) by a final score of 53-44 on Thursday. The Bruins out-rebounded the Spartans 41-30 and secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Region 18 Basketball Championships with the road victory.

Sophomore guard Katie Richens (Roosevelt, UT) led the Bruins with 11 points to go with seven rebounds. Freshman guard Miranda Averett (Price, UT) scored 10 points off the bench and sophomore center Rachel Morris (Mesquite, NV) added nine points and six rebounds in the winning effort.

Next up for Head Coach Betsy Specketer and the Bruins is the final game of the regular season, a road matchup with USU-Eastern on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. in Price, UT. SLCC is 2-0 against USU-Eastern this season.
