Bruins win by 10 points over rival CSI with big finish in final three minutes

Salt Lake City, UT—The No. 12-ranked SLCC Men's Basketball (23-3, 11-1 SWAC) defeated Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) rival College of Southern Idaho (CSI) (19-9, 6-7 SWAC) 81-71 on Thursday at Bruin Arena. The Bruins shot 53.0% in the win and scored 27 points off turnovers to sweep the season series with CSI 3-0.

Bruin freshman forward Sai Tummala (Phoenix, AZ) turned in a 24-point, nine rebound performance in the winning effort. Sophomore guard Skyler Halford (Orem, UT) tallied 14 points to go with seven assists and sophomore forward JuWan Buchanan (Seattle, WA) added 11 points and four rebounds.

Next up for Head Coach Todd Phillips and the Bruins is the team's final home game of 2013 on Saturday, Feb. 16. SLCC will square off with No. 10-ranked North Idaho College (25-3, 12-1 SWAC) on Sophomore Day with a 5:05 p.m. tipoff. The season series with NIC is tied at 1-1, with the home team in the head-to-head matchup winning each contest.
