SLCC Men's and Women's Basketball This Week:

No. 14 SLCC Men's Basketball gets set for SWAC matchups with rivals CSI and NIC

Salt Lake City, UT—The No. 14-ranked SLCC Men's Basketball team (22-3, 10-1 SWAC) has a pair of key Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) home matchups on tap for this week as the team plays its final home games of the season. The Bruins, winners of three straight games, will face rival College of Southern Idaho (CSI) (19-9, 6-7 SWAC) on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Bruin Arena with a tipoff slated for 7:35 p.m.

SLCC will take on No. 9-ranked North Idaho College (NIC) (23-3, 10-1 SWAC) on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 5:05 p.m. at Bruin Arena. Saturday's matchup with NIC takes place on Sophomore Day for SLCC, with the players that are moving on being honored with a pregame ceremony.

The Bruins lead the season series with CSI 2-0 and have split a pair of contests with NIC. The home team in the head-to-head matchup has won each game. SLCC is tied with NIC for the top ranking in the SWAC at 10-1 and this week's matchups will determine the regular season conference champion.

SLCC is averaging 85.4 points scored per game, led by sophomore guard Skyler Halford (Orem, UT) with 17.8 points per outing. Second on the team in scoring is freshman forward Sai Tummala (Phoenix, AZ) with 14.2 points per contest. The Bruins are allowing an average of just 63.5 points per game to the opposition.

No. 21 SLCC Women's Basketball preps for rivalry week, final home contests of the season

Salt Lake City, UT—The No. 21-ranked SLCC Women's Basketball team (15-9, 6-5 SWAC) will play a pair of Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) home games this week. The Bruins will face No. 19 College of Southern Idaho (CSI) (17-10, 10-2 SWAC) on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Bruin Arena with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.

The SLCC Women will square off with rival No. 5-ranked North Idaho College (NIC) (24-2, 9-2 SWAC) on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Bruin Arena with tipoff slated for 3 p.m. Saturday's matchup with NIC takes place on Sophomore Day for the Bruins, with the players that are moving on being honored with a pregame ceremony.

The Bruins have lost both prior matchups this season to CSI and have split a pair of contests with NIC. CSI is currently the top team in the SWAC, with NIC in second place and the Bruins in third in the conference.

The SLCC Women are averaging 60.8 points scored per game, led by sophomore center Rachel Morris (Mesquite, NV) with 12.7 points per outing. Second on the team in scoring is freshman guard Natalie Parsons (Bountiful, UT) with 8.8 points per game. The Bruins are allowing an average of 54.4 points per game to the opposition.
