TWIN FALLS, ID—The No. 17 SLCC Men's Basketball team (5-1) fell to Casper College 66-59 on Friday afternoon at the Wright Physical Therapy Shootout hosted by the College of Southern Idaho.

SLCC trailed by as many as 19 points in the first half but rallied to close the gap to eight points at the break. The Bruins outscored Casper 31-30 in the second half but could not overcome a slow start offensively.

The Casper Thunderbirds shot 56% from three point range and went 15-for-20 from the free throw line, while the Bruins shot just 33.3% from the field and went 3-for-22 from beyond the arc.

Stats vs. Casper: SLCC freshman forward Neal Monson (Sandy, UT) finished with a double-double, scoring 12 points to go with 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Gary Payton II (Las Vegas, NV) added 11 points and nine rebounds and freshman forward De'Sean Parsons (Sacramento, CA) also scored 11 points to go with five rebounds.

Next up for Head Coach Todd Phillips and the Bruins is a matchup with Western Nebraska Community College at the Wright Shootout on Saturday, Nov. 16 in Twin Falls, ID. Tipoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
