SALT LAKE CITY – The 11th ranked SLCC Baseball team took their winning streak to 16 games with a sweep of Southern Nevada 2-1 & 3-0. The Bruins are 17-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
AJ Carmen threw six complete innings striking out five while allowing two hits. With the game tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh a pinch hit RBI single by Kennedy Kinkade pushed Salt Lake on top. Derrick Whitney was 2-2 with an RBI and Braden Anderson knocked his fourth double of the season.
In the final game of the series Josh Mooney took a no hitter into the fifth inning before giving up two hits with five strikeouts. The Bruins plated all three runs in the third inning behind a two RBI double by Cory Raymond. Kyle Bilbrey was 1-2 with a double and RBI followed by Eddy Alvarez going 1-2 with an double.
