SLCC Pitching stifles CSN Bats

SALT LAKE CITY- The SLCC Baseball team extended their winning streak to 14 games with a doubleheader sweep over Southern Nevada.  Salt Lake is 15-1 overall and 2-0 in SWAC play.

 

SLCC broke up a CSN no hitter in the sixth inning with three consecutive hits to drive two runs across the plate.   Kyle Bilbrey drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly followed by an RBI single from Braden Anderson.  Adam Dunn threw a complete game shutout allowing five hits with six strikeouts. 

 

In game two it was seven extra base hits that led Salt Lake to a 9-2 win.  Bilbrey (2-5 2 doubles), Anderson (2-5 2 doubles) and Kinkade (2-4 2 doubles) each had two doubles in the game and Dom Taylor blasted a solo home run.  Tyson Popoff drove in three runs going 2-2 in the game.  Tyson Memmott got the start going four innings allowing two hits giving way to Rudy Acosta.  Acosta threw five scoreless innings allowing one hit.
