LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The SLCC Baseball team opened up the 2011 season with a split with Cochise College. SLCC took the first game 8-6 and lost game two 15-2. The Bruins are 1-1 overall.
Tyson Memmott took the win in game one with Jordan Hager earning the save. Scott Manning hit a go ahead two run homerun in the 6th inning finishing the game 2-4 with three RBI's. Dominque Taylor was 1-2 with two RBI's.
Ruddy Acosta threw four shutout innings with seven strikeouts and two walks in a 15-2 loss for Salt Lake. Josh Mooney picks up the loss pitching two innings. Kyle Bilbry was 1-3 with a triple, Dominque Taylor and Derrick Whitney both knocked a double in the loss.
