SALT LAKE CITY (March 6, 2010) – The SLCC baseball team opened conference play with a four game sweep of Colorado Northwestern. Salt Lake defeated Colorado 15-1, 10-0, 15-4 and 12-6 with the wins Salt Lake is now 11-4 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
James Mahler threw five innings striking out seven while allowing one hit helping the Bruins win game one 15-1.
Kyle Bilbrey was 2-3 and Zach Swasey was 1-2 with a triple and three RBI's.
Tyson Littlewood finished with a game high seven RBI's hitting a home run and a double.
In game two Salt Lake run ruled Colorado 10-0 behind
Tyson Memmott's five innings of work pitching the shutout with nine k's.
JR Roland was 3-4 with a triple and two RBI's while
Duncan Blades was 2-4 with two RBI's.
Game three was a 15-4 win with Derek Christenson throwing three innings allowing one hit while striking out six.
Nate Littlewood hit a three run home run and
Brandon Gust finished 1-2 with three RBI's.
In the final game of the series the Salt Lake pitching staff collected 10k's with starter
Adam Wilson striking out six.
Duncan Blades was 1-3 with four RBI's and a triple.
Mitch Manning hit a pinch hit solo home run.
Salt Lake (11-4, 4-0 SWAC) will face Dawson College on March 9th the double header starting at 1:00 pm at Cate Field.
