SLCC Women Remain Perfect at Home
SALT LAKE CITY (January 16, 2010) – In front of the largest crowd of the season the second-ranked SLCC Bruins escaped with a 68-67 win over Snow College. Freshmen
Alli Blake (Kaysville, UT)hit one of two free throws to give Salt Lake the one point win with 8.9 seconds left in the game. Salt Lake extends their winning streak to 17 games and has a commanding lead atop the SWAC with a perfect 9-0 record.
Sophomore
Kelsey Sparkman (Ogden, UT)led SLCC with 21 points; 17 of her points came in the 1
st half.
Haley Holmstead (American Fork, UT)scored 16 points with
Alli Blake finishing with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Mina Jovanovic (Smederevska)came off the bench to collect 10 rebounds and scored eight points. Salt Lake cleaned up on the boards out-rebounding Snow 46-29; 16 of the rebounds were at the offensive end of the floor.
No. 2 Salt Lake (17-1, 9-0 SWAC) puts their 17 game winning streak on the line as they hit to road to face North Idaho College (16-2, 7-2 SWAC) and Southern Idaho College (13-6, 5-4 SWAC). Salt Lake takes on North Idaho on Thursday, January 21st and then battles Southern Idaho Saturday, January 23rd.
