SLCC Men Stay in the Grove; Win Ninth Straight Game
SALT LAKE CITY (January 16, 2010) – The Salt Lake Community College Men's Basketball team won its ninth straight game by defeating Snow College 87-75. Salt Lake scored 27 points off of Snow turnovers and finished the game with 15 steals. The win takes Salt Lakes record to 16-3 overall and 7-2 in Scenic West play.
Two Bruins finished with double-doubles;
Sol Jensen (Centerville, UT)had 12 points with 13 rebounds and
John Hayward-Mayhew (Eugene OR)scored 16 while collecting 11 boards.
Collin Chiverton (San Jose, CA)led all scorers with 22 points and six steals.
Darrian Norris (North Las Vegas, NV) added 18 points on 3 of 5 from behind the arc.
No. 25 Salt Lake (16-3, 7-2 SWAC) hits the road for a demanding series against league leaders North Idaho (17-2, 7-2 SWAC) and rivals College of Southern Idaho (12-7, 4-5 SWAC). Salt Lake faces North Idaho on Thursday, January 21st and clashes with Southern Idaho on Saturday, January 23rd.
