Box Score 4 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 8-9, 2025)- No. 6 SLCC Softball (14-3, 1-3) lost three out of four games against CSI (12-11, 7-1) in the Bruins home opener.
Salt Lake lost the first game 6-4 in eight innings. The Bruins gave up a three-run home run in the first inning and eventually tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth with Taitumn Reynen's RBI double. CSI scored two runs in the top of the eighth and handed the Bruins their first loss of the season.
Salt Lake won the second game 9-8. Makaila Schneider, Taitumn Reynen, and Taylor Lewis-Balzarini all hit two-run home runs for the Bruins. CSI scored four runs in the fourth inning off a grand slam. The Golden Eagles rallied in the seventh inning scoring four runs again, but the rally came up short.
The Bruins lost game three 10-5. Three of the Golden Eagles runs were unearned as Salt Lake Committed four errors in the game. Salt Lake hit three solo home runs in the game.
Game four ended up as a 6-5 victory for CSI. The last runs came in the top of the fourth as strong pitching shut both offenses down the last three innings.
