TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Monday, March 17, 2024)— No. 12 Salt Lake has been a mainstay in the Scenic West Athletic Conference weekly awards, sweeping the conference Pitcher and Player of the Week awards behind the standout performances of pitcher Tiffany Hermansen and slugger Bailey Marvin.
Hermansen earned SWAC Pitcher of the Week with a complete-game, seven-hit win. The Ephraim, Utah native struck out eight while pitching around three SLCC errors in a 6-5 game three win. The former Manti Templar is 4-0 this season with three complete games and a 3.03 ERA. Hermansen has allowed 29 hits and 13 earned runs while striking out 33 batters in 30 innings.
Marvin was named SWAC Player of the Week after finishing the four-game sweep over USU Eastern 8-10 at the plate with five home runs, a double, three walks, eight runs scored, and a stolen base. The redshirt sophomore from Payson, Utah, is slashing .522/.598/.1.104 with ten home runs, 30 RBI, and 13 walks in 67 at-bats.
